Drivers are wanted to join a team for the 2005 Fray in Ferndale. In 2001 we went as Team Model Motoring, in 2002 and 2003 we went as Team Wizzard. There was no race in 2004, and we have no sponsor for the 2005 race. I've sent in our entry to confirm the East Coast team will compete, but I need a least four more drivers to complete the team. It's not necessary to have a lot of racing experience. We have taken very green rookies on each previous team, provided them with competitive cars and shocked many more seasoned teams with our competitiveness. The real requirement is a love of T-Jets, and the time and money to go! Plane tickets are the major expense, and decisions must be made quickly to get the lowest fares. I'm booked Norfolk, Va to San Francisco, round trip for $220. Your mileage will vary! The other major costs are hotel, at approximately $35 a night based on two racers to a room at the Best Western in Fortuna. The shared minivan is approximately $270 for the period of the trip, plus gas. The race is February 19th in Ferndale, California. To keep the costs reasonable for East Coasters, the plan is to fly into San Francisco (SFO) or Oakland (OAK) on Tuesday, Feb 15. The team will rent a minivan, drive the 230 miles to Ferndale, through the classic redwood forests of Northern California. We'll have a free sightseeing day on Wednesday to explore the scenic charms of Ferndale and the "Lost Coast" and the "Avenue of the Giants" redwoods. Thursday afternoon we'll get our first run on the eight magnificent six lane tracks that the Fray is run on. Below, you can see the Lock and Joiner Yellow, Blue and Purple tracks. The other tracks are all continous rail routed tracks by the master, Brad Bowman. These tracks are all on 14 x 6.5 foot tables, six lanes, Galinko Power, and controlled by a special version of TrakMate. Friday is more practice, and then the race on Saturday. You'll see 15 teams from all over the Mid West and West Coast, approximately a 100 racers, that will compete on each table. This will be a real enduro, consisting of ten lap races against the other teams until the dinner break. After a well deserved Italkian dinner, where you'll be carbo loading for the individual races. The individuals will be run on the most popular track,
