MASCAR Summer Fest

July 21st at Mark Smith's Raceway, Port Haywood, VA

This event was billed as a fun event with different classes than we normally run. The T-Jet class also allowed JL/AW cars, but most folks ran their regular BeachJet. BeachJets combine Fray and VHORS rules, so cars built to either class are legal. For the magnet race, Patriot Cup was the designated class. Patriot Cup is a stock Wizzard P3E or Scorpion, with Phase II traction magnets. A real surprise to us all, was the legendary Henry Harnish, the 1962 Ford/Aurora National Champion attending the event. Henry drove down from his home in northern New Jersey. First up, the season trophies were presented by MASCAR President Jeff Crabtree in both the BeachJet and Super Stock/Modified Magnet classes.
